At Rue Boudoir, I prove that constantly in the relaxed, encouraging atmosphere of my Manhattan studio. Boudoir is not about being young and perfect-bodied. It is about finding the supermodel within all of us, as we are NOW. We all deserve to feel just as sexy as a Victoria’s Secret model! I aim to prove to every woman who walks through my door that she is gorgeous inside and out. I’ve studied with some of the very best photographers in the country, including traveling to Paris to study with top boudoir Photographers, The Boudoir Divas. I understand how to use lighting and posing to acheive the best results, and I have very carefully created a studio that is perfect for this type of photo shoot. If you entrust yourself to a talented, thoughftul photographer who can put you at ease and guide you through the process, you will be thrilled with the results. I wanted to experience having my own session so I could really relate to everything my clients were going through – from the anxiety to the fun. Naturally, I turned to my teachers, The Boudoir Divas, when it was time for me to have my own boudoir shoot! Having shot so many boudoir sessions and told so many women how fun and empowering boudoir is, I didn’t think I would be as nervous as I was to actually walk out on set in my skivvies. Wow, was I nervous! Just as I tell my own clients, though, I truly did feel at ease almost immediately. When you have had your hair and makeup professionally done and you are rolling around under the hot lights, feeling sexy, you DO become a supermodel, and I wish every woman would give themselves a chance to experience it! I think ALL women should do this, but here is a special word of encouragement to those ladies out there who think they are too shy, too fat, too old, too whatever to let themselves enjoy something like this: DO IT ANYWAY! As a not-so-skinny girl myself, of course I was anxious about how I would feel seeing myself in photos. But I focused on the ones that I LOVED (and there were so so so many that I loved) and walked out of there that day feeling like a million bucks! I swear, I had a pep in my step for at least a week after I got home!
The studio
The Rue Boudoir studio, in downtown Manhattan, is cozy and private and designed especially for boudoir shoots. I’ve worked very hard to put together boudoir sets, from finding the most exquisite fabric backdrops, to making a custom faux headboard by hand, to scouring the world for the perfect prop jewelry. There are over twenty unique sets in the studio, ranging from simple to lavish. No matter what your aesthetic preferences or wardrobe choices, there will be something here that you will love. Most ladies have a very hard time narrowing their set selections down!
