HOW DO I BOOK A SESSION?
To book a consultation or session with Laura, you can call us at 212.564.7430 or use our contact form to send us an email. Our calendar fills quickly and is frequently booked SEVERAL MONTHS (and sometimes 4-5 months) in advance, so definitely plan ahead when thinking about scheduling.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
You should wear something that makes you feel SEXY! You should bring your favorite pieces of lingerie along with accessories – and don’t forget the high heels! Many women use their shoot as an opportunity to splurge on a few new items. If you’d like a little direction on where to shop for some exquisite new lingerie, check out the following favorites: Victoria’s Secret, Brooklyn Fox, Dirty Dolls, Agent Provocateur, Hips and Curves, Coup de Foudre, Cosa Bella, Fleur of England, Jenna Leigh, and French Lingerie Outlet. Keep in mind, though, that you absolutely do NOT have to invest in a lot of new lingerie to have an amazing shoot – a simple, flattering, black bra and panties will go with every set!
We also have an extensive dressing room in the studio full of lingerie and accessories that you are free to use. Browse the virtual closet on Pinterest and create your own style boards for your session!

HOW MANY OUTFITS CAN I BRING?
We shoot one outfit per set (variations welcome), with packages ranging from one to four sets. You are welcome to bring more outfits than you’ll be shooting in, and we will consult about your wardrobe and set selection before we get started.
WHAT IF I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO POSE?
I don’t expect you to! That’s what I am here for, to coach you through the whole process! I know how to use lighting and posing to their best effects to flatter any body type.
If you want to practice your expressions in the mirror (yes, I know it will feel silly!), that may help you feel more comfortable the day of the shoot, but I will be there to guide you with your poses and expressions. Sometimes in preparing for their sessions, girls look at a LOT of different images thinking about what poses they want and they bring some pics with them to show me. You are welcome to do that. We won’t exactly copy someone else’s image, but we can certainly draw inspiration from the pose or the mood of the shot and apply it to yours.
HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY SHOOT?
In the days leading up to your shoot, you should be mindful of drinking lots of water and keeping your skin nicely moisturized.
DO YOU PROVIDE HAIR AND MAKEUP?
Hair and makeup is included in our Ultimate package and is available to add onto any other package for $150. Having your hair and makeup professionaly done, either before you arrive for your session or here at Rue Boudoir with one of our trusted hair and makeup artists, will make your boudoir session feel that much more glamorous! If you’d like hair and make-up arranged for you, please let us know when you make your appointment. WHEN WILL I SEE MY PICTURES?
Your photo premiere will be the VERY SAME DAY as your shoot! We will sit down together with your proofs about an hour after your shoot and select your images and order any products you’d like.
WILL YOU RETOUCH MY PHOTOS?
Yes! Every photo that you purchase, either as a digital download or in an album or other print, will be retouched to the standard you see on the website.
WHAT PRODUCTS ARE AVAILABLE?
We offer the highest-quality products to help you carry your boudoir experience with you long after your session is over. Our product line includes albums, nightstand portraits, calendars, canvas prints, and more.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO RECEIVE MY ORDER?
You will receive your digital download approximately 4 weeks after your shoot. If you have ordered an album, it generally takes four weeks from the date of your shoot until you have your finished album in hand. If you need your album by a specific date, it is best to schedule your shoot AT LEAST one month in advance to avoid rush processing fees.
WHAT ABOUT PRIVACY?
We understand that, while exciting, a boudoir session is also nerve-wracking for some ladies, and we know you want privacy during your shoot. Our sets are closed to only Laura, her female staff where appropriate, and the client. Clients may elect to have a friend with them for encouragement if they’d like, but please – no boys allowed!
Your photos are always processed and stored securely in the studio, and each client consults with Laura as to what images, if any, are allowed to be used on ownyoursexy.com. Some ladies give us free reign to use whatever images we’d like, while others would prefer not to allow the use of their images or to only use those that do not show their face. Whatever you prefer is fine by us, and we assure you that your choice will be respected.
CAN I BRING MUSIC FOR YOU TO PLAY?
Of course you can! We always play music during our sessions – it makes it so much more fun. You can also always bring your own iPod to plug in.
